COMMUNITY
At Decorus Developments, we believe that we have a responsibility to give back to the community that has given us so much.
During our groundbreaking for the Sequel project, we donated to Meals on Wheels. It was a great opportunity for us to give back, as well as encourage others to do the same.
In 2014, we made a contribution to the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation. This foundation holds a special place in our hearts, and we feel honoured that we could find a way to help.
MANJIT BHATTI
Manjit came to Canada in 1972 where he started to work in the insurance industry. After a few years he shifted to work on the BC Rail for 2 years, and eventually moved back to Vancouver to begin his career in real estate in 1977.
Although he was working in real estate, Manjit knew that he ultimately wanted to be in construction and development. By 1980, he pursued that passion and began working on single-family homes and duplexes. In 2004 Manjit started on his first multi-family project. With each project he learned more and more about the construction world – and today is an expert in the field!
Manjit has also dipped into his other passion: movie production. He has worked with stars in both the Punjabi and Hindi film industries. His primary roles have been in producing films and he loves the process behind each movie.
MAYUR KOTHARY
Home development was the family business, so naturally Mayur grew up around construction and developed a passion for it. Planning and figuring out the best optimization strategies are some of his favourite parts of the job. He has a great attention to detail and ensures that his customers get the best.
Mayur believes in fairness and exemplifies this by always making sure to keep his word. As he says, “negotiate hard, but fair”. He also believes in treating his sub-contractors with compassion and respect, always putting their safety above all else.
Along with Decorus Developments, Mayur is the proud co-founder of Monterey Homes, alongside his wife, Namrata.
Outside of work, Mayur enjoys travelling around the world with his wife and spending time with his family. He also loves to share knowledge with his kids about the construction industry, hoping to one day pass on the torch to them.
